The Austroflex AFX Sleep System has been engineered to be the most complete adjustable suspension system so that one can fully enjoy the benefits of a night's rest, whether for health or for convenience reasons:
- In total, there are Three dedicated motors for Custom elevation adjustment in three locations:

- The back and shoulder zone. The motorized mechanism lifts the back to an almost vertical position. Accommodates people with Sleep Apnea and Acid Reflux (GERD).
- The third motor can flex the leg and knee region to an extreme inverted V-shape position for improved blood circulation.
- For optimal spinal column and body support, hundreds of individual support points from pod-like suspension elements of the bed suspension system are arrayed to ensure your spinal column conforms to the position of the body as it rests. This custom system adjusts immediately and smoothly when you shift positions to ensure the least stress for the best body support. On the average, a person moves 35 times during the night. - Quiet, smooth and strong motors can be adjusted via the control unit for precise positions. The back section can be tilted to an-almost 90 degree position, the head/shoulder section can be further moved another 15 degrees and finally, the leg/knee section can raised to an inverted V-position.
- The positions of the head, back and leg regions can be memorized in three positions with the hand-held controller for:
- reading,
- watching TV,
- to accommodate special body elevations for Sleep Apnea and Acid Reflux (GERD) conditions,
- to get on and off the bed,
- resting with the head tilted slightly for asthma or other breathing ailments,
- elevating the feet for improved blood circulation,
- elevating the body and feet to recover from surgery or from exercise.
- There is an automatic power cut-off and emergency lowering system in the case of household power loss.
- The standard adjustable control unit is a hand-held unit which is connected via a cable to the motor. The motor has a backup battery pack which can be used to lower the bed from an elevated position if there should be a loss of household power. Most customers use the cable unit since it does not require battery operation and cannot be misplaced. An optional wireless remote control is also available.
