The Berlin bed base is unique in that it is integrated with our bed frame so that together, they are one unit. This is part of the classic block design. Along with our mattress (Berlin or any other mattress model), this makes each sleep system only two units for setting up: the combo bed base-bed frame and the mattress. The bed base can either be manually or electrically adjustable so that the head/back section and the knee/foot section can be elevated independently. The bed base mechanically is a firm slat support system. It has a premium firm foam top to mold to your body. The entire unit is covered with fabric that is a combination of the same custom fabric as the bed frame(selectable by the customer from a choice of 20-plus fabrics) and an off-white tightly-knit, robust fabric in the center to enhance the angular lines of the combo-bed frame and bed base.

An Adjustable Head/Back and Leg/Foot System

The electrically-adjustable bed base can be raised for the head/back and leg/foot sections in a smooth-acting action using a hand-held remote unit. The motor is quiet so the other sleeper will not be disturbed by the adjustment of the system. There are an infinite number of adjustments with three memory buttons to memorize three settings. For example: for reading, sleeping with the feet slightly up for better blood circulation or head/back up for acid reflux conditions or asthma, for watching TV or admiring the ocean view!

The manually-adjustable unit has loops in the leg and head sections which allow you to mechanically raise each section up to about 30 degrees from the horizontal.
